SBS breaks down the systems integration life cycle into five distinct phases: Assessment, Design, Implementation, Operation, and Training. We maintain high-level expertise in all five phases for many of the major technologies found in today's enterprise.

Although we will provide services to help with each phase of the systems integration life cycle, SBS can have the greatest positive impact on a company's enterprise when we are able to effect all five phases of a project. From assessing your current storage solution, to designing your network architecture, to implementing your backup solution, to operating your server infrastructure, SBS can provide the services to successfully implement and maintain complex technology solutions into your IT infrastructure.

Assess
An objective assessment of your current environment is the key to understanding the solutions that will best help you meet business objectives. Being armed with an accurate evaluation of your environment allows you to reduce business-continuity failures, make better decisions, and take advantage of the technical advancements that are right for your environment.

Assessment phase projects typically contain the following steps:
• Discovering comprehensive targeted IT infrastructure
• Performing a current situation analysis
• Identifying possible “problem areas”

Assessment phase activities traditionally involve a formal deliverable document and presentation of problem areas. Often, the deliverable takes the form of an assessment or audit document.

Design
// DesignThe design phase of the systems integration life cycle is often the most critical. It is in the design phase that the roadmap to a successful implementation is created. SBS brings a wealth of experience to draw upon when designing any system infrastructure. This value-added experience can provide your organization with a "lessons learned" approach to implementing any technology.

Design phase projects typically contain the following steps:
• Defining and analyzing business and technical requirements
• Selecting appropriate products to match requirements
• Creating a project cost analysis
• Creating an implementation plan

Design phase activities traditionally involve a formal deliverable document and presentation of viable solution alternatives. Often, the deliverable takes the form of a design or architecture document. Time and money spent up front to ensure the optimal solution is developed can realize future savings as well as guarding against purchases which don't maximize the investment.

Implement
Implementing today's latest technology into your environment can be very challenging. SBS works closely with industry leaders to ensure that our engineering staff is fully capable to implement any solution into your complex IT environment. Our goal is to bring your infrastructure on-line in the most efficient, dependable, and cost-effective manner possible.

Implementation phase projects typically contain the following steps:
• Creating and validating the required Bill of Materials
• Creating a timeline for implementation which maximizes the critical path
• Constructing the deliverable to the specifications in the design document
• Creating and executing a test plan to ensure requirements have been satisfied
• Transitioning the activity to the operational support team

In addition to the functional system and documented test plan and results, a major deliverable of the Implementation phase is the customer sign-off. The customer executes an abbreviated version of the all-inclusive test plan to validate that key requirements are met.

Operate
Very few organizations are able to fully meet the requirements of operating their IT environment solely with in-house staff. Today's successful organizations are better able to meet the challenge of operating and maintaining their IT infrastructure by outsourcing specific functions and technologies. SBS provides fully qualified engineering talent in a variety of technical disciplines to augment in-house IT staff.

Operational phase activities typically include the following:
• Creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the environment
• Executing operational procedures
• Troubleshoot and provide support for the environment

Traditionally, Design and Implementation projects are very tangible with specific timelines and deliverables, whereas Operational activities are usually more of an on-going process.
